Siempre he tenido la impresión de que lo de llevar o
no paraguas, no es tanto una cuestión de buscar, sino más bien, de encontrar o
no. Es
difícil dar con ellos. I consider that wearing or
not umbrella, it is not just a question of seeking for, but of finding it or
not. It is hard to find.
Los paraguas son
increíbles. Umbrellas are incredible.
Hay paraguas amigos, de ésos
con los que uno se identifica, de ésos en los que uno es capaz de reconocerse,
de ésos que cuando los abrazas, casi se diría que te arropan con los brazos;
esto es, que abrazan. There are friendly umbrellas, those with
who you can recognize yourself, those whose you can identify yourself with,
those which you can hold while feeling the strength of its arms.
Algunos hasta son capaces de
silbar – los de la caña de aluminio hueca -. Como a los niños, les encanta
jugar, mecerse en las olas del viento, saltar de una mano a otra. Some
of them are able to whistle, - those made of an aluminium hollowed stick. Like children, they do love
to play, surfing on the wavy wind, jump from a hand to another.
Su educación es exquisita
aunque a veces; en contadas ocasiones, también puedan llegar a perder las
formas, especialmente los días de lluvia, días en los que conviene tener
cuidado con las puntas; pueden arañar. They are very
polite, even though sometimes, not really often, they can lose the good manners,
specially on rainy days, days when you have to be careful with their
branche-heads (ends), they can scratch your skin.
Cuando son todavía niños, en
edades tempranas, es importante enseñarles que han de respetar las distancias
con los demás, respetar el espacio de cada uno, su propio espacio, incluido
aquí también, el de los otros; el espacio ajeno. When they are
still kids, in an early age, it is important to teach them they must respect
the others, respecting the difference, respecting the other´s space.

En la ciudad donde vivo
apenas llueve y cuando llueve, llueve sol – los eclipses de nube son muy
frecuentes -. Casi se podría decir, que los días de lluvia, por ser tan pocos;
uno, en vez del paraguas, se echa las
manos a la cabeza. Cuando llueve, el tráfico se congestiona y la ciudad se
desconcierta tanto que moverse resulta toda una aventura, sus arterias parecen
coagular. It is not usual to rain in the city where I am living
and when it rains, it rains sun, - moon eclipses are a very common phenomenon
here -. We could say that, when it rains, because it is so unusual, you take
your hands to your head. When it rains, driving becomes difficult and the city
gets crazy up to the point that its avenues and main arteries seem to
coagulate.
En esta ciudad – por otro lado; como en tantas otras
- hay días que te mojas igual con paraguas que sin él, días que llueve sin
nubes, días en los que terminas empapado sin haber abierto siquiera la puerta
de casa. In this city, - as it happens anywhere-, there are
days when you get wet with or without umbrella, days where rain appears whitout
clouds, days that you can finish completely damp under the ceiling of your own room.
En general, llevar paraguas
aquí no es algo que se estile demasiado, entre otros motivos, como comentaba, porque
la gente prefiere moverse en coche antes que disfrutar del paseo en los días de
lluvia. In general, as a
normal rule, wearing umbrella it is not a fashion thing, easily, because as we
said, people prefers moving by car than enjoying walking around the streets
when it is raining outside.
